My name is Chojongtso. I was born in 1988 in Rendouma village, Zorgay township, Hezuo (Zee) city, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous prefecture, Gansu province. “Zee” means antelope. Before the city was built there, there were a lot of antelopes living in that area. I come from a nomadic area, of course my family are nomads. There are eight members of my family household. They are my two uncles (who are monks), my parents, my older sister, my brother in law, my younger sister, and me. In my family I am the only member to be educated in school. They all are illiterate. All my family members herd livestock. I continuously studied and eventually graduated from middle school. Then I passed the teacher’s school exam and entered the Gannan Normal School. We studied Tibetan, English, Chinese, and Math. My first footstep into learning English was in 2004, and I studied in Gannan for two years. Now I am one of ETP’s students at Qinghai Normal University in Xining. I wanted to join the Imaging Tibet photography project because I want to show my area’s features to everybody. My hometown’s living conditions are poor, and transportation is also poor. I hope I can help my home to improve their living conditions. If people see the photos they maybe will want to help my home area. They will see how difficult the situation in my home area is.
